What is Medication-Assisted Treatment?

Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) is the use of medications to treat opioid use disorder and alcoholism.

We have developed a strong program that includes a board-certified recovery specialist and a licensed professional medical team who specialize in treatment for opioid use disorder and alcoholism. These experts work together to provide a whole treatment program, rather than just supplying medication to treat the disease.

Opioid use disorder affects 2.1 million people in the United States. There are over 120,000 deaths worldwide annually attributed to opioids. Not choosing to use medication for opioid use disorder increases the risk of overdose when compared to choosing treatment with Buprenorphine or Naltrexone.

Treatments Provided at CHDC

  Buprenorphine (Suboxone, Subutex, Sublocade, Brixadi)

  Naltrexone (Vivitrol)

Here at CHDC, we understand that no single treatment is appropriate for everyone but in order to be effective, treatment needs to be readily available. We tailor treatment to meet each patient's needs and provide individualized care.

Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) is just one tool in the toolbox that we use to help patients in their recovery journey. Our team works with patients throughout their treatment to monitor for illicit drug use, Hepatitis C treatment and coordination, and to provide integrated behavioral health counseling.

Our Patients Say It Best!

"I've been going here for years, and the whole nursing staff is great. There's free transportation and drivers, (Michael) go out of their way to help! The medical assistants, (Wanda), and let's not forget our CRS, (Deliverance), and Dr Netaji, and Dr Kristen are the greatest! Last, but not least, Brittany!! Brittany has also helped with so much in these past years! I definitely recommend Community Health and Dental Care!"

- Patient K.C.

"I have nothing but GREAT things to say about the MAT dept. They listen to what I have to say, and they always go above and beyond! Kirsten is the best provider I ever had! Can't say enough good things about her!! Deliverance is my life saver! She is always helping me make/change appointments and anything else I need. They truly do care."

- Patient B.S.

"This program has been a blessing for me. I highly recommend you make them a part of your family because that's how they treat me there. They are reliable, always available, and they actually care."
