Our eye doctors ensure you get the glasses and contacts you need to make your daily life easier. Read a book, scroll on your phone, watch TV, drive, and do anything else you enjoy -- free of vision problems. You can get reading glasses, bifocals, daily contacts, and more at our vision center. Why Kids Need Eye Exams & Other Vision Services

Keeping children truly healthy means taking a Total Care approach to their health. Eye exams are an important part of children's health. Undiagnosed vision issues can cause additional problems such as headaches, neck pain, and other health defects. Plus, it may affect their learning and performance in school. 

Risk factors for children include:

  • Low birth weight or family history of premature birth.
  • Infections such as rubella, or diseases such as HIV occurring during pregnancy.
  • Slow developmental process.
  • History of eye disease in the family.
  • Crossed eyes or turned eyes.

"I visited the Optometrist Dr. Gwinn, at the Coventry Mall location. I am a glaucoma suspect and do have a regular Optometrist that I normally use, unfortunately she has been out with major health issues. So, this year I had to go somewhere else. I also used to work as an assistant for an Optometrist, so I am very picky. I was very pleased with Dr. Gwinn. She is knowledgeable, kind, took her time and most importantly she was very, very thorough. It was not like going to America's Best and sitting in the exam chair for a whopping 5 minutes. She did a very detailed eye examination. After my examination she went over the changes I had in my prescription. In detail she also explained to me about 2 issues I was having with my eyes. Flexible Payment Options

We accept most major insurances, including all PA Medicaid HMO's, DHS Medicaid, Medicare, and commercial plans. If you have no insurance, but still wish to visit a Provider, we can help! CHDC offers a health care discount program that is based on your family size and household income. Patients in our service area throughout Berks, Chester, and Montgomery counties who are eligible can receive discounts of up to 25%, 40%, 55%, 70% or 100% for services received at CHDC.
