Substance Abuse Support
Center of Excellence
The PA Department of Human Services designated Community Health & Dental Care as a Center of Excellence (COE).
What does that mean for people struggling with addiction and substance abuse?
It means that they can come to our COE, tell us their problems, and we'll develop a treatment program tailored to them.
What does a COE do?
It uses any resource at its disposal -- both internal and external -- to provide the best addiction treatment services. Each person gets their own Case Manager, who coordinates the many aspects of a recovery program.
Internally, we provide medication-assisted treatment, medical services -- many of which may have been neglected in addiction -- and behavioral health therapy and counseling. Then, we connect patients with resources like 12-Step Meetings and Sober Living opportunities. Externally, we partner with other organizations to provide even more care.
The Opioid Epidemic
In Pennsylvania, 12 people die every day from opioid overdoses.
Families in areas like Pottstown, Boyertown, and all throughout TriCounty are losing spouses, children, brothers, sisters, parents, nieces, nephews, and friends. The staff at CHDC’s opioid addiction medical center understands how to help people struggling with addiction. More importantly, they know that there are treatment options available that will work.
If the first time fails, we will both try again, as many times as it takes, because recovery is possible.
At CHDC, we are able to provide substance abuse support with Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT).
We have developed a strong program that includes certified recovery specialists, care managers, substance abuse counselors, licensed clinical social workers, MAT support staff, and providers who specialize in treatment for opioid and heroin addiction. These experts work together to provide a whole treatment program, rather than just supplying medication to treat the disease.
Solutions for Substance Abuse
On top of the 12 Pennsylvanians dying every day, across the United States, one American dies every 11 minutes from opioid or heroin overdose. If you, a family member, or anyone you know may be struggling with drug or alcohol addiction, or any other substance abuse problem, Community Health and Dental Care has developed a professional team of doctors specializing in addiction treatment. Together, they determine the best treatment program for individuals struggling with substance abuse problems.
A Total Program Approach to Recovery
We have witnessed success stories first hand at CHDC. CHDC provides group support therapy and many tools to assist each person in their battle against substance abuse. Yet, patients battling this disease don't just need help with substance abuse, but repairing the damage it did to their health. In addition to recovery, we provide dental, vision, and primary healthcare services. All of these facets of an individual’s wellness are integrated within the recovery process to get people’s lives back on track.
Flexible Payment Options
We accept most major insurances, including all PA Medicaid HMO's, DHS Medicaid, Medicare, and commercial plans. If you have no insurance, but still wish to visit a Provider, we can help! CHDC offers a health care discount program that is based on your family size and household income. Patients in Boyertown, Pottstown, and other areas who are eligible can receive discounts of up to 25%, 40%, 55%, 70% or 100% for services received at CHDC.
