CHDC Dispensary Update: 9/26/25

CHDC is thrilled to announce that we will be opening our very own pharmacy in May 2026! This exciting addition will allow us to better serve our patients’ medication needs by offering expanded medication options, discounts, and access to an in-house pharmacist to support both patients and providers with questions and concerns.

To prepare the physical space and complete all steps required by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to transition to a full pharmacy, our current Dispensary will close as of Monday, September 29, 2025.

Important Things to Know:

  • Prescription Transitions: CHDC Staff will be contacting patients to transition current prescriptions to either mail-order or to The Medicine Shoppe in Boyertown.
  • Mail-Order Options: Patients can continue to utilize our mail-order services for prescriptions and refills.
  • Communicate with your Provider: Patients are strongly encouraged to speak with their provider or nurse care managers to address any questions or concerns.

Increasing Access to Affordable Medication

We make it easy to get the prescriptions you need without the added stress. Patients can pick up prescriptions right after their appointment at our main health center location in the Shoppes at Coventry. Through our partnership with The Medicine Shoppe of Boyertown, patients can access affordable medications, expert pharmacy support, and even delivery throughout the service area.

Each day, patients across the country go without vital medications because of the high cost of prescription drugs. The federal affordable medication (340b) program enables health centers like CHDC to provide patients with the most effective medication at affordable prices. The savings are reinvested to increase access to high quality care for patients in our communities. To learn more about medication access, visit www.nachc.org/.

We accept Medicare and Medicaid supplement plans for eligible patients. Our on-site medication dispensary works closely with Medicare recipients to help lower out-of-pocket costs for prescriptions. Additionally, our Case Management team can assist you in exploring programs like Medicare Extra Help, which may offer further savings on medications.
