The History of Community Health Centers

Community Health Centers like CHDC have been providing quality healthcare for patients no matter their income or insurance status. What started in 1965 as a small program to bring healthcare to areas with limited access has grown into a powerful network that now serves more than 32.5 million people at over 16,000 locations across the country. CHDC is proud to be a community health center! Since opening our doors in 2008, we've grown to almost 29,000 active registered patients this year.

We are proud to be a part of the National Association of Community Health Centers, serving as a trusted health care home for patients across Pottstown, Barto, Boyertown, and the surrounding communities. Like health centers everywhere, we do more than treat illness - we focus on prevention, education, and removing barriers so our patients can live healthier lives.
